The Shas Chevra Lubavitch Shul and the Budapest Yeshiva is located in the VI. district, Vasvári Pál utca 5. (off Király utca) in the courtyard (map). It is two blocks from the King's Hotel and a 15 minute walk from the Intercontinental Hotel or a 5 minute walk from the Kempinsky and Meridian Hotels.

Daf Yomi shiur (Hebrew)
Day Yomi shiur, by Rav Boruch Oberlander, at Shas Chevra Lubavitch Shul (VI., Vasvári Pál utca 5. – map) weekdays at 6.40:00 AM. Shabbos and Yom tov an hour and a half before Friday's Candle lighting time.


Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat
In the winter we start on at 6:00 PM, in the summer at 7:30 PM.


Shabbos morning:
– at Shas Chevra Lubavitch Shul (VI., Vasvári Pál utca 5. – map) at 9:00 AM
– at the Chabad Óbudai Shul (III. Lajos utca 163. – map) at 10:00 AM (WEBSITE)
– at the Keren Ohr Chabad Israeli Shul (V. Károly körút 20. – map) at 10:00 AM


Weekday minyonim:
Shacharit (daily) at 8.10 AM at the Shas Chevra Lubavitch Shul.
Shacharit (monday-friday) at 6.30 AM at Chabad Óbudai Shul
Mincha-Maariv (Sunday-Thursday) 7.30 PM (in the summer) at the Keren Ohr Chabad Israeli Shul .

Mincha Friday (in the winter only!) 12:30 PM at the Keren Ohr Chabad Israeli Shul.

Cari mama pizzéria (VII., Kazincy utca 28., Tel.: [+361] 342-0231) has fresh kosher pizza, bread and some Cholov Yisreal milk products.


Fröhlich Cukrászda Pastry Shop (VII., Dob utca 22., Tel.: [+361] 266-1733, has fresh kosher traditional Hungarian and Jewish pastries, Parve and some are Cholov Yisreal. Store hours 9 am – 6 pm.


In the Jewish area there is the Carmel Restaurant, mostly meat dishes. It is a very nice place (VII., Kazincy utca 31., Tel. [+361] 322-1834, You can also order meals in advance for Shabbos.


All of the above premises are certified Mehadrin Kosher by the Beth Din Tzedek of the Chareidi Communities of Budapest, Rav Boruch Oberlander Av Beth Din.


You could stay at the King's Hotel (VII., Nagydiófa utca 25-27., Tel.: [+361] 352-7675, The King's Hotel is a decent, 3 star hotel. The hotel is NOT kosher. The Restaurant next to the Hotel is also NOT kosher. Rooms cost around 60-90 Euro a night. It is in the Jewish area.

There is also a Youth Hostel: Marco Polo (VII., Nyar utca 6.) Tel.: [+361] 413-2555. Prices range between $15 and $30 per bed.

All of the above are very close to our Shul and Yeshiva.


There is a kosher shop which sells lots of products: milk, cheese, crackers, salads and more. It is located on VII., Dob utca 16. and  called BaMo (Tel: [+36] 70-33-55-000 web: email:, and is open every weekday.

At the above shops employees speak English, French and Hebrew.

The beautiful new Mikvah was built in 2005 by Chabad Lubavitch with the generous donations of Reb Avraham Borech Godinger and Reb Wolf Lefkowits from New York.


From the airport there is a Airport Minibus that for $7-8 takes you to any address in Budapest.

Hetiszakaszunkban – Ködosim (3Mózes 19-20.) – a mindennapi élet zsidó vetületének megszentelt volta a téma, és a Tóra részletesen kifejti az elvet, miszerint ez a "szentség" a Tóra parancsolatainak szigorú betartásában és a zsidó különállás – a népektől való elkülönülés – konzekvens megőrzésében merül ki.

"És elkülönítelek benneteket a népektől, hogy az enyéim legyetek" – mondja a Tóra. Bölcseink hozzáteszik: "Ha elkülönültök a népektől – az enyém vagytok. Ha nem – akkor odaadlak Nebuchadnecárnak és társainak"! (Torát Kohánim 10.)
